Our Good People/Companions
Allison, Companion
Writing. Reading a good apocalyptic thriller with a nicely-chilled glass of red or white wine. Listening to music. Singing karaoke. Eating sushi or seafood. Playing Scrabble or Uno. Word searches. Anything and all things Christmas. Welcome to Allison's world of pure and peaceful bliss.
Allison was born in Brooklyn, New York, to missionary parents from Jamaica. She was raised in Scarborough, Ontario, and spent a considerable amount of time in Whitby and Courtice. Being an only child, she thrived on making friends, forming connections, and building firm foundations for everlasting friendships in all the places she has lived. In a sense, Allison was always a professional friend, pal, companion, secret-keeper, diary, confidante and prayer warrior.
Academically, Allison studied Mass Communications in university and Journalism-Print in college. To be an effective communicator, one must learn how to listen, be present, be still, be there. Allison has always risen to the task, never shying away from being a friend to somebody.
Allison is happily married with two stellar children. With family values based on biblical principles, love, acceptance, forgiveness, and grace are common themes in her household. Allison is also Co-Chair of the Parent Council at her children's school. She enjoys watching the community and younger generation thrive through projects and fundraisers she had a hand in initiating. Never quick to anger, Allison is merry, joyful and is passionate about bringing that to others. She can't wait to be your companion.

Matt, Companion
Raised in Tweed, Ontario, Matt grew up in the country and takes pride in his upbringing. Neighbors helping neighbors, whenever the need arises; it’s a defining characteristic that he brings to Good People. Moving to Toronto in his 20s and spending 20 years there provides a unique perspective around the differences of both urban and rural settings. But also, how much everyone is so similar, regardless of where they find themselves. We all need kindness, love and understanding to thrive. Matt’s excited to bring those things to Good People.
Moving from Toronto to Oxford Station with his family, he’s getting back to his roots. Working for Carefor Health & Community Services, he brings his understanding of community care to Good People and looks forward to spending some quality time with other good people, clients and Companions alike. He enjoys music and has been playing both drums and guitar from a young age. Enjoying the quiet on his property, and the hard work that goes along with that, he and his family do their best to appreciate all they have and what this world has to offer.
